The “Museo della Liberazione di Via Tasso” serves as a poignant reminder of the Italian Resistance during World War II. This institution not only safeguards the physical site of historical significance but also curates a vast collection of narratives, documents, and artifacts that bear witness to the resilience and struggles of those who resisted oppression. The creative journey embarked upon for this project was one steeped in historical significance and emotional resonance. ADL delved into archives, engaged with historians, and immersed themselves in the era to ensure authenticity and respect for the subject matter. The project involved a meticulous curation of images and testimonials, with a focus on fostering an emotional connection between the museum’s visitors and the narratives of the past.
The visual identity crafted for the museum is a harmonious blend of historical gravitas and modern design sensibilities. It employs a monochromatic palette, symbolizing the stark realities of war, juxtaposed with strategic use of space and minimalist design elements that speak to the clarity and purpose of the museum’s mission. The typography is carefully chosen to echo the timelessness of the museum’s stories, while the iconic imagery selected is treated with a contemporary touch, ensuring the museum’s relevance to today’s audience
The campaign’s visual narrative was meticulously disseminated across various mediums, from outdoor billboards to digital platforms. Each piece was designed to not only inform but also to evoke a sense of curiosity and reflection. The campaign strategically placed poignant historical photographs in public spaces, bridging the gap between the past and the present, inviting a dialogue with history.
The result of this comprehensive campaign was a renewed public interest in the legacy of the Italian Resistance. Visitor numbers to the museum saw a significant increase, with the campaign also sparking conversations on social media platforms and in educational institutions. The new visual identity and campaign successfully positioned the museum as a dynamic repository of history, engaging a new generation with the stories of valor and liberty.
